Had a lovely meal and experience at this “new to me” restaurant! Saw it on social media and the location and atmosphere live up to the hype. With the canals and boat slips it feels more like a tropical paradise than east Detroit. Loved the outdoor areas, the whimsical furniture/settings, and combined indoor/pergola/outdoor areas.
It could use better signage and the parking situation isn’t great; can be confusing where to park and enter.
The hostesses were friendly and welcoming. Our server was over immediately and was fantastic start to finish. Fun drink menu and loved the $3 beers. The food menu, although a little ‘small’ was still interesting and varied.
Shared a smoked fish dip appetizer—yummy!
Entrees of fish and chips (fantastic) and marrow burger (unfortunately overcooked-not served medium). Was hungry so didn’t want to send burger back but I’m sure they would’ve brought us another one if requested.
Overall super fun and will come bask. They should figure out a way to offer boat rides or even a dinner cruise.
The reason for 4 stars v 5 is the parking situation and the burger but don’t let either deter you.
The atmosphere is cool. My friend had the crispy cabbage with lamb meatballs; it was delicious. I had a burger; it was a burger. (That was my choice so I know to do better next time, lol.)
The fennel honey ice cream with poached pears and shaved almonds was yummy too.
Detroit’s best kept secret discovered. My husband and I enjoyed our delicious drinks, The Paloma and Save the bees drinks for the WIN!! We also ordered the Jalapeño hush puppies and the Burger with house homemade chips.
Our only request is to be cautious of the burger, we ordered it well done, it came back medium rare. The waitress took the burger back for well done and she returned the burger medium well.
Ordering well done isn’t an easy task here, however the location, ambiance, excellent service, and drinks have sold us as a new favorite spot❤️
It's a great location, a great atmosphere, and the service was awesome. It's LGBTQ friendly, but parking was limited. They don't have enough parking places, we had to park far away and walk around 7 minutes, which is ok to me but some people might not like it. The reason why I gave it 4 stars. The restaurant doesn't not have a sign, (check my pictures below or above) but food was good, we ordered 2 side dishes, one fish and chips, one beer and a margarita, the bill came around $ 70 dollars for two people, it's kind of expensive, but overall we enjoyed it.
Super cute restaurant right on the water/canal! Friendly staff and great (and creative) food! I had the jerk cauliflower tacos! If they are booked, go sit at the bar, you won’t be disappointed!
The drinks are the highlight here, food was definitely good but nothing stood out as very unique or amazing to me. The unique cocktails though were all great, the margarita was unique and strongly infused with jalapeno pepper & the beet drink was splendid and refreshing, a must try for summer! Very cute ambience/setting by the river.
I found this place randomly while looking at google maps and thought that I must give this place a try. I reserved online and came to the restaurant for lunch on the weekend. I love the location! We tried the marrow burger and the falafel wrap. Great flavor and equally good service too. My wife and I will be returning again.
Such a great spot for drinks and food! The atmosphere is great, being right on the canal and the staff was wonderful! We learned it’s dog friendly and we live within walking distance.. So, we’ll definitely be regulars moving forward.
